Youth Ministry
Throughout the year you will be offered opportunities to share in fellowship with other members of the family of God, providing a wholesome environment where people of all ages are able to share in various activities without worrying about the appropriateness of its content is a valuable ministry.
S.P.Y. (St. Peter's Youth) is a ministry program for the youth of the congregation. Various social and service oriented activities are planned throughout the year. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for these young people to socialize with some of their peers in an accepting environment where they can be guided within the Christian principles. Activities such as weekend study retreats, camping trips, ski trips, and day trips are only a part of the offerings of this group.
Jr. S.P.Y. is for youth, grades 6 through 8. This has movie nights, pizza parties, day trips and other various activities.
Sr. S.P.Y. is for youth, grades 9 through 12. Among their annual events are weekend retreats in the mountains or at the shore, ski and hiking trips, and service projects like food pantry volunteering and the "rake brigade," providing fall leaf raking for those needing assistance.
Youth Sunday is a semi-annual event at which our youth lead both of our Sunday morning services.
National & Synodical Youth Events are sponsored by the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. These events give an opportunity
for you youth to experience how they are part of a larger organization.
In a world where Christian principles are often challenged, being a part
of a national event helps give you confidence in the message of the
Gospel in Jesus Christ.
