Worship Services
It is true that you do not have to "go to church" to get into heaven. Your faith in Jesus Christ does that for you. However a faithful Christian would want to offer praise to God and share in the fellowship of other believers. This helps to strengthen your faith and give you the opportunity to help strengthen someone else's faith. The following worship opportunities are offered here at St. Peter's.
Sunday Morning Worship is offered at 8:30 and 10:00 A.M. You are
not a spectator, but rather a participant in worship.
The "Alternative" Service is at 8:30 A.M. on Sunday morning,
and is an alternative to the traditional Lutheran Liturgy. A relaxed
setting with hymns, responsive readings, Bible readings and preaching,
make this service an option for those who desire a less structured
worship experience. People who prefer an earlier hour for worship find
this a welcomed opportunity.
The Traditional Service is at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday morning. This worship experience follows the Liturgical design brought down through the centuries prior to the time of Martin Luther himself. Although the form is ancient in its form, the content is progressive and in keeping with our every day life. At this service, singing is much more evident in the hymns and responses of the congregation. The Adult Choir is present to assist in the leadership of this service.
Sunday School is available for children ages 3 through grade 6 during the 10am service. Children may depart to Sunday School following the Children's Chat.
Nursery Care for babies to age 3 is provided on the lower level.
Coffee Hour following worship in the rear office area. Feel free to mingle at the rear of the church. Take this opportunity to meet new people. Hosts & bakers needed. If you enjoy a treat on Sundays, maybe you would be willing to either bake or buy something, or, find a friend and share the baking. Sign up in the back office.
