Nursery School Programs

2-Year Olds: 2-Day Program

Children must reach age 2 by September 15th. Class meets on Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:30am to 12noon. Children will play together with the guidance of a lead teacher and aide. We emphasize a loving, gentle instruction in play and creativity in a warm and carpeted room with a bathroom available. Toys, crafts, and activities are planned that will nurture your toddler's sense of curiosity and fun.

3-Year Olds: 2 and 3-Day Programs

Three-day classes meet on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays; two-day classes meet on Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Children must reach age 3 by September 15th. Children are expected to be toilet trained. Any exceptions must be discussed with the Director and the child's teacher. Children will be assisted with toilet duties but will be encouraged and taught to gain independence. Emphasis is upon social development and problem solving. Our staff will be patient and loving with your child. We will work together with you as a team to help your son or daughter meet whatever challenge.

4-Year Olds: 3 and 5-Day Programs

There are two options for our four year olds, a five-day per week program or a three-day per week program. The five day program meets Monday through Friday and the three day program meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Classes for both programs are from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. The afternoon session, Lunch Bunch, begins the first Tuesday in October and continues through the end of April. Lunch Bunch offers children an additional opportunity for social skills and cognitive development through games and arts activities. Those children who enroll in that program bring a lunch and stay until 2:00 p.m. Additional tuition is billed for this program. Students must enroll in the entire program but can choose one or both days. See tuition schedule attached. Emphasis continues to be socialization, but concentrates more on kindergarten readiness. Weekly review of letters & numbers, introduction of reading concepts and math functions. Problem solving is highest priority in both social and academic situations.

4 to 5-Year Olds: Pre-K/5-Day Program

Pre-K or 4 to 5-year-old classes are held Monday through Friday, from 9:30 until 12 noon. Children enrolled are turning five before December 31st or are recommended to the program by the Director or previous preschool teacher. This program provides an environment ideal for those students who do not make the cut off for kindergarten, are academically and/or socially advanced or those students who require additional time to prepare for kindergarten. The program is more structured and academically based although the main emphasis continues to be on socialization. Units of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies are reviewed.

3-Year Old Programs: Participating in the Lunch Bunch program provides a stepping stone for your child to stretch their day in preparation for a longer week next year. This extended day-program begins begins in January. Participating children bring their own lunch and remain for an additional two hours; dismissal is at 2:00. It is our experience that the younger children need the first semester of the school year to gain confidence before enjoying the additional time for play and learning that the afternoon session provides. You are provided with the option of one or two days. Additional tuition is billed for this program and a commitment is expected for the entire term.

4-Year Olds and Pre-K Programs: Lunch Bunch offers children an additional opportunity for social skills and cognitive development through games and arts activities. This extended day program begins on the first Tuesday in October and continues through April. Participating children bring their own lunch and remain for an additional two hours; dismissal is at 2:00. You are provided with the option of one or two days of Lunch Bunch in the three-day program (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and up to three days in the five-day program (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Additional tuition is billed for this program and a commitment is expected for the entire term.
