Christian Education

At the time of Baptism, parents and sponsors for the baptized person promise to "see to their instruction in the Christian faith." As a congregation, we offer the following programs to assist you in fulfilling this promise.

Sunday School for ages 3 through 6 is offered every Sunday morning. Children are requested to attend worship with their family. Following the "Children's Chat" the children may proceed to their Sunday School class. The class is over at 11:15 A.M. Parents are encouraged to share in the coffee hour following worship while they wait for their child. (Please do not take your child early. This is disruptive to the class.)

Nursery Care for babies to 3 years is provided on lower level during the service.

Vacation Bible School is offered every morning during the second full week of July. With music, Bible stories, crafts, activities, recreation, refreshments and fellowship, the children arrive with enthusiasm and leave fulfilled. Classes are offered for children ages 3 through grade 6.

Catechetical Instruction is a two year program offered to young people from the seventh grade or above. Following the completion of this two year curriculum, the student is invited to participate in the Rite of Confirmation. At this they say that they are willing to assume the adult responsibility for their Christian faith.

First Communion Classes are held the Saturday morning before Holy Week. The class receives their First Holy Communion during the Maundy Thursday service in Holy Week. The Lutheran Church's policy is that classes be made available to those in fifth grade, or whatever the parents feel it is appropriate. Watch this web site or the church publications for details.

Adult Bible Study Join us on Wednesdays at 7:30PM. For complete subject details please see Adult Education included in the monthly Newsletter.
